Well, what a year! JAL has come to life again and not just on Zoom. I hope you all had an opportunity to hear about Citizen Science and the amazing bumble bees in a talk given by Ann Reilly. If not, go on YouTube; JATV Media recorded the event. In May our year ends and we will begin planning for the fall. Our planning committee meets in June; if you have any ideas for programs, contact Jen Sturgeon, our Program Chair at: jensartgallery.js@gmail.com.
We are just beginning! We will have a presence at the opening of Artrageous Wednesdays at Rock County Historical Society on June 7th. A new Art Show opens at the Janesville Performing Arts Center starting June 12th and a JAL fieldtrip is planned for June 22nd. In July, join us for some wine at the Winery Art Walk at Fermenting Cellars on July 16th. We have had such a great time! The WRAP committee is working on the planning of this year’s annual WRAP Workshop and Exhibition; the recep- tion will be held on Friday, July 28th with the Workshop on Saturday, August 19th. We had a number of people who went to the State level last year; look for their photos on the next page. The summer will also bring the Tallman Art Festival on Au- gust 5th and 6th.
My presidential duties will come to conclusion at the end of May. Even though I will no longer be the president, I will contin- ue to see you all out and about appreciating all the wonderful things JAL members and the City of Janesville are doing in supporting and promoting our community. I am always just around the corner from where you are!! Carol Herzig will be con- tinuing the leadership of the Art League, so I am leaving, knowing the organization is in loving and capable hands. Our board members are very enthusiastically engaged and supportive. Thank you all for your dedication and cooperation; we worked well together!
