Janesville Art League Co-Presidents’ Letter
We are well into our 22-23 season and we are headed toward planning for our next calendar year. Lots of good things yet to come.
We learned about the Bumble Bee study in February, and Sandy Bacon in March. We will meet Jayn & Doug Lubke of Rubato Pottery in April, and at our Annual Meeting May 18th we will be creating some beautiful paint poured wine glasses with Nancy McKinnon.
Many changes are in store for the League and the Board. We will be looking for a new co-president, treasurer, and vol- unteers to coordinate exhibits, assist committees for Tallman Art Festival on August 24, and Artrageous Wednesdays. These are all great opportunities to work with other artists and deepen our community of JAL. I want to express great appreciation to the Woman’s Club and Foundation for their diligence in caring for the Woman’s Club building, including the JAL art collection and the grounds.
We continue to work with and support Rock County Historical Society and Tallman House, Downtown Janesville, and Beloit Art Center. There have been more than a dozen classes and the monthly sketch club at JPAC offered by Art League members in the past 6 months supporting our mission to promote art to the public. Our Art League members can be proud of the numerous awards for photography and paintings they have accrued. We want to acknowledge all members’ efforts. Thank you!
